Irish Seafood Chowder is a comforting dish that captures the essence of the Emerald Isle. With its rich history, this flavorful soup is not just a meal; it’s a journey through coastal towns, familial traditions, and the timeless way of life by the sea.

Let’s immerse ourselves in this culinary adventure with the following recipe that perfectly balances tradition and flavor. Taste the heart of Ireland in every spoonful!

Ingredients

Seafood: 1 lb fresh mixed seafood (such as cod, haddock, mussels, and shrimp)

Butter: 4 tablespoons (unsalted for the best flavor)

Onion: 1 medium onion, finely chopped

Leeks: 1 large leek, thoroughly cleaned and diced

Garlic: 2 cloves, minced

Potatoes: 2 medium, peeled and diced

Vegetable stock: 4 cups (homemade is ideal)

Cream: 1 cup heavy cream

Fresh dill: 2 tablespoons, chopped (or parsley as an alternative)

Salt & pepper: to taste

Lemon: Wedges for serving
